Family obligations have brought me to a crossroads, and with deep reflection, I’ve made the decision to relocate from Innisfil and Simcoe County to midtown Toronto—back to the very streets where I grew up as a child.
This move feels both tender and exciting. Tender because for the past five years, Simcoe County has been so much more than a place to live and work—it has been family. It has held me, supported me, and nurtured my art, my practice, and my spirit. The warmth and openness of this community will always stay with me, woven into my story no matter where life takes me. I am not saying goodbye; I will still be present in Simcoe for several commitments and projects, and my connection here will remain strong.
At the same time, I feel a spark of curiosity and possibility returning to Toronto. Relocating to Avenue Road in midtown is like stepping into another layer of my own history, reconnecting with the community I grew up in, and opening myself to a whole new pool of opportunities. Already, doors are beginning to open—there’s the potential of a studio space, and I’m exploring venues for solo and group exhibitions. I’m even dreaming of hosting a “Welcome Back” show to mark this transition.
This next chapter will be about moving slowly, intentionally. I know that one small step, taken with care and hope, can lead somewhere truly special.
Right now, I’m quietly shaping two major works:
✨ An Oracle Deck collection, an artisan series designed to inspire reflection and connection.
✨ The Bodywork Book, a visual and expressive journey into movement and emotion.
I’m also looking to collaborate with psychotherapists and healing practitioners, exploring how my work can create meaningful bridges in therapeutic spaces.
This is me, easing back into my practice, stepping gently into a new city while carrying the love of the old one with me. I can’t wait to share more as things unfold.
If you’re in Toronto—or still in Simcoe—let’s stay connected. There’s much more to come.
With gratitude and excitement,
Maria
